People always ask me what are books that influenced my life.

in today's article, I am going to share the list of the books that influenced my particle life.

I am going to focus on major aspect of life, like

  • LIFE
  • FINANCE
  • BUSINESS
  • MINDFULNESS
  • PHILOSOPHY
  • CREATIVITY
  • ROMANCE

LETS get into it

Life

atomic habits -

This the definitive guide to breaking bad behaviors and adopting good ones in four steps, showing you how small, incremental, everyday routines compound into massive, positive change over time.

one book that is close to my heart and helped me to developed better habits in life.

there are so many good lessons from this book that will help you to understand life better.

whatever you do is depends on your habits if you have better habits then you will have a better life.

“Habits are a double-edged sword. They can work for you or against you, which is why understanding the details is essential.”

“Small changes often appear to make no difference until you cross a critical threshold. The most powerful outcomes of any compounding process are delayed. You need to be patient.”

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the votes build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.”

make it stick

Make it Stick describes the prevalence of the “illusion of knowing” arising from ineffectual learning habits such as rereading and massed practice. Students believe they have mastered content, but they have only familiarized themselves with what the text says, and not with what it means.

The one book that helped me to understand how to learn new stuff. how to understand a new things and how to learn better.

Our college never taught us how to learn new things first you have to unlearn a lot of things then you have to make a habit of learning

and that will help you build new things.

how you should actually learn in life

what is the learning process

what to learn better and be better

“Trying to solve a problem before being taught the solution leads to better learning, even when errors are made in the attempt.”

“It’s not just what you know, but how you practice what you know that determines how well the learning serves you later.”

“One of the most striking research findings is the power of active retrieval — testing — to strengthen memory, and that the more effortful the retrieval, the stronger the benefit.”

“The process of learning something often starts out feeling disorganized and unwieldy; the most important aspects are not always salient. Consolidation helps organize and solidify learning”

personal finance

Let’s talk about finance which is a major part of my life. Financial freedom is something I always look for because it gives you freedom to worry about bigger problems.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Rich Dad, Poor Dad — one book that helped me to understand how money works it’s a story of his two dads — his real father (poor dad) and the father of his best friend (rich dad) — and how both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing.

“Money comes and goes, but if you have the education about how money works, you gain power over it and can begin building wealth.”

  1. Accounting
  2. Investing
  3. Understanding markets
  4. The law

“In the real world, the smartest people are people who make mistakes and learn. In school, the smartest people don’t make mistakes.”

“Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.”

“It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power!”

“It’s more important to grow your income than cut your expenses. It’s more important to grow your spirit that cut your dreams.”

let's talk money

We work hard to earn our money. But regardless of how much we earn, the money worry never goes away. Bills, rent, EMIs, medical costs, vacations, kids’ education and, somewhere at the back of the head, the niggling fear of being underprepared for our own retirement.

The reason I love this book because it is based on indian market and mainly for indian humans.

the one book that covers almost everything in personal finance.

The book Let’s talk money is one of the essential books that one must surely read regarding the personal finance that is based on the Indian Markets.

Business

I started my freelancing in 3rd year of my college. Always wanted to excel in whatever I do. So read many books in the business genre but there are very few books that helped me to get on the track of business.

4-hour workweek

4HWW — influential book about understanding how to start your business, remote work, create multiple businesses’

4HWW is a gem for starting an online business. I read this book in college days. Damn! There is no doubt what this is a bestseller still now.

if you are a content creator or have an online business you should definitely read this.

a complete blueprint if you want to start a digital business

  1. Be effective, not efficient.
  2. Validate all of your business ideas.
  3. Charge a premium to make your life easier.

“What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do.”

“But you are the average of the five people you associate with most, so do not underestimate the effects of your pessimistic, unambitious, or disorganized friends. If someone isn’t making you stronger, they’re making you weaker.”

“A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.”

“If you are insecure, guess what? The rest of the world is, too. Do not overestimate the competition and underestimate yourself. You are better than you think.”

Make your own luck

What does it take to have a successful sales career? What does it take to create a billion-dollar start-up? What does it take to move up and get promoted in your corporate career? What does it take to succeed in life? It tales luck. Yes, some people are born into it. Some people fall into it.

Nothing focuses your work like
a clear and distinct goal.
Make your goal as specific and
compelling as possible.

“Doing what is hard is the only path to growth.” — Bob Miglani

Rework by Jason Fried

ReWork gives insight on how to improve your business relationships, productivity, and work environment. Quick and easy to read.

Rework is fearless. It’s conversational without any mundane “biz-speak,” and it’s backed by Fried and Heinemeier Hansson’s own successes during their 10+ years in business.

This book reaches out to both starting entrepreneurs and seasoned ones. It also reaches out to those who are “thinking about it,” and to those still haunted by the myths of what it really takes to succeed in business… any business. This isn’t limited to tech companies. Rework is an alternative take to starting anything in the business world.

To do splendid work, you need to feel that you’re making a difference

“Until you actually start making something, your brilliant idea is just that, an idea. And everyone’s got one of those.”

mindfulness

There is more than one way to practice mindfulness, but the goal of any mindfulness technique is to achieve a state of alert, focused relaxation by deliberately paying attention to thoughts and sensations without judgment. This allows the mind to refocus on the present moment.

There are very few books I read in this genre actually one.

mind full to mindful: zen wisdom from a monk’s bowl

Based on the original Zen teachings, this beautiful book offers a life-changing perspective on life itself. Bestselling author of many transformational books, Om Swami shares with you the art of happiness with plenty of humour, stories and wisdom as he takes you on a journey from being mind full to mindful

“This constant play of nature — one season comes, then goes, another one comes, then goes — is what life is all about. It’s not about some grand goal. Zen does not believe in that. Zen says, nirvana or moksha is simply a matter of perspective. If you can eat when you are eating, if you can sleep when you are sleeping, you are jivan-mukta, a liberated soul. You are enlightened.”

“For if I’m doing anything in my life out of choice, there’s no reason to complain and if I don’t have a choice, then there’s no sense in complaining.”

“if I’m doing anything in my life out of choice, there’s no reason to complain and if I don’t have a choice, then there’s no sense in complaining.”

Philosophy

The philosophy of life would include things like how you decide what is “good” and “bad”, what “success” means, what your “purpose” in life is (including if you don’t think there is a purpose), whether there is a God, how we should treat each other, etc.

Man’s Search for Meaning — Viktor Frankl

Outlining Frankl’s theory of ‘logotherapy’, he argues human beings cannot avoid suffering in life, but we have the power to give it meaning and thus endure it with renewed purpose. He holds that our primary drive in life is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but the discovery and pursuit of what we find meaningful.

Even more impactful for where it was written, Frankl tells the story of his time spent within Nazi extermination camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Library of Congress found Man’s Search for Meaning among the ten most influential books in America.

  • By experiencing something fully or loving somebody
  • By the attitude that one adopts toward unavoidable suffering

creativity

Creativity is something we all want. there is one book that helped me a lot to be more creative is this

steal like an artist

Steal Like An Artist gives you permission to copy your heroes’ work and use it as a springboard to find your own, unique style, all while remembering to have fun, creating the right work environment for your art, and letting neither criticism nor praise drives you off track

  1. Where you cannot imitate your favorite artists is where you’ll find you own style.
  2. If you’re an artist, some procrastination is productive.
  3. Enjoy the anonymity of being a beginner before the fame hits.

“Nobody is born with a style or a voice. We don’t come out of the womb knowing who we are. In the beginning, we learn by pretending to be our heroes. We learn by copying.”

“What to copy is a little bit trickier. Don’t just steal the style, steal the thinking behind the style. You don’t want to look like your heroes, you want to see like your heroes.”

“Draw the art you want to see, start the business you want to run, play the music you want to hear, write the books you want to read, build the products you want to use — do the work you want to see done.”

“There’s an economic theory out there that if you take the incomes of your five closest friends and average them, the resulting number will be pretty close to your own income. I think the same thing is true of our idea incomes. You’re only going to be as good as the stuff you surround yourself with.”

romance

Romance is something important in life (as I am an avid reader)

the notebook

The Notebook is a 1996 romantic novel by American novelist Nicholas Sparks. The novel was later adapted into a popular film of the same name, in 2004.

The Notebook was a cultural phenomenon like few romantic comedies are. It stole our hearts, made us cry roughly a million tears, and still has us captivated. Even with its flawless cast and a gorgeous setting that somehow feels nostalgic to everyone, the words are still the star of the show. Here are 15 of our favorite quotes from The Notebook, 15 years later.

“So it’s not gonna be easy, it’s gonna be really hard. And we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I wanna do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever. You and me. Everyday.”

“Summer romances end for all kinds of reasons. But when all is said and done, they have one thing in common. They are shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, a fleeting glimpse of eternity. And in a flash, they’re gone.”

“The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that’s what you’ve given me. That’s what I’d hoped to give you forever.”

the fault in our star

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

“As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”

“You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”

“Books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal.”

five feet apart

this moving story that’s perfect for fans of John green’s fault in our stars, two teens fall in love with just one minor complication — they can’t get within a few feet of each other without risking their lives. Can you love someone you can never touch Stella Grant likes to be in control — even though her totally out-of-control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. What Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

“…I want to be fearless and free. It’s just life, Will. It’II be over before we know it.”

“I’m tired of living without really living. I’m tired of wanting things. We can’t have a lot of things. But we could have this.”

“If this is all we get, then let’s take it. I want to be fearless and free,” she says, giving me a look, daring me. “It’s just life, Will. It’ll be over before we know it.”

“I know in that moment, even though it could not be more ridiculous, that if I die in there, I won’t die without falling in love.”

me before you

Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.

Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he’s going to put a stop to that.

What Will doesn’t know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour? And neither of them knows they’re going to change the other for all time.

“You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”

“Push yourself. Don’t Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”

“Some mistakes… Just have greater consequences than others. But you don’t have to let the result of one mistake be the thing that defines you. You, Clark, have the choice not to let that happen.”

“I will never, ever regret the things I’ve done. Because most days, all you have are places in your memory that you can go to.”

“I thought, briefly, that I would never feel as intensely connected to the world, to another human being, as I did at that moment.”
